అగ్ని సూక్తం (ఋగ్వేద)

తాత్పర్యము: యజ్ఞాలకు పురోహితుడు, దేవత, ఋత్విజుడు, హోత మరియు రత్నాల వంటి అపారమైన సంపదలను ప్రసాదించే అగ్నిదేవుని నేను స్తుతిస్తున్నాను.

I praise Agni, the chief priest of the sacrifice, the divine minister, the invoker, and the greatest bestower of wealth.

May Agni, the invoker, of wise understanding, the true, of most brilliant fame, come here along with the other gods.

తాత్పర్యము: చీకట్లను పారద్రోలే ఓ అగ్నిదేవా, మేము ప్రతిరోజూ పగలు మరియు రాత్రి స్వచ్ఛమైన భక్తి భావముతో నీకు నమస్కారములు అర్పిస్తూ నీ దరికి చేరుతున్నాము.

To you, O Agni, the dispeller of darkness, we approach day by day, offering our prayers and reverence with a pure mind.

We approach you, the radiant ruler of sacrifices, the protector of truth, shining brightly, and growing in your own dwelling.

తాత్పర్యము: తండ్రి తన కుమారుడికి ఎలా సులభంగా అందుబాటులో ఉంటాడో, ఓ అగ్నిదేవా, మాకు కూడా నువ్వు అలా సులభంగా దరిచేరదగినవాడివిగా ఉండు. మా శ్రేయస్సు కొరకు ఎల్లప్పుడూ మాతోనే ఉండు.

O Agni, be easily accessible to us, just as a father is to his son. Be with us for our well-being and prosperity.
